I wish we were definately getting closer on the adoption, too. Another week has gone by with no word from China. I've starting looking at the March Moonbeams group on a regular basis. Referrals (beautiful, funny pictures!) keep coming but so far nothing for April LIDs. Jon found a post from a couple in Australia that had just gotten their referral. There's apparently some superstitious behavior involving shaving your legs. She swore it worked! It didn't work.
Oh well. The wait is giving us more time to read parenting books and do our online training. I'm trying to learn a little Chinese, too. It's hard though. At least learning a few Portuguese basics last spring brought together things I knew from other languages. Mandarin is really difficult for me.
A few more weeks might actually mean we'll have a nursery ready. Still nothing going on that front, but we have the slider, a rug, curtains and a pile of stuff for it. The crib is coming Dec. 1. Once the kitchen is ready we'll be able to get started on painting the walls in there - right around that same time, maybe. I have Molly's room all planned in my head, it's just a matter of space and time.
Visiting the March Moonbeams group and our Gift of Love March DTC group there are so many pictures of people's sweet little completely decorated nurseries. Source of feeling of inadequacy #3,847.
Jon's right, the kitchen is looking good, still some trimwork, painting and knob/drawerpull adding left to do, but nearly functional! Do you ever stop seeing the little things that you wish you'd done something about? The pendant lights in the bathroom aren't centered on the sink. It's pretty minor but I wish I'd thought of that before they wired the lights - or set the sink. Oh well.

Kate and I love the new sink, the new stove and the hardwood floors!
We've been registering all day at BB&B and Crate & Barrel (nice little Saturday, actually), so I'm in the rare state of mind where I might comment on someone's choice in appliances.
The other day, we had a conversation which may be germane to your current situation. Kate and I haven't seen much of each other in the last month and a half (only two out of the last 5 weekends). We're both really excited that Kate will be moving to New Bedford in May, but we're both cognizant of the fact that once she moves in, that's it. Say goodbye to bachelor/bachelorette-hood forever. Let me be clear, we're both full-on amped about that, but even though we're thrilled at the prospect of closing this chapter of constant travel, in the meantime we're going to enjoy our last few months of doing whatever we want whenever we want. For example, Kate is going to relish going to bed at 9pm with the heat cranked to 90 degrees, while I will enjoy staying up until 2am and leaving the window open when it's almost freezing!
So enjoy those last few quiet dinners, last few nights of sound sleep, and maybe it would be a good idea for you to both go out and get sloshed! This is your last chance to be semi-irresponsible, so I suggest you take advantage of that fact!
