Once breakfast was over and enough playdough cookies had been made, we drove over to the Highlands Ranch kids fishing pond for Molly's first fishing trip. While not the most exotic of fishing holes, it is a large pond ringed with big rocks and a nice floating dock.
Mostly filled with ducks and geese, they stock the pond early in the spring, but by this late in the year there was little chance of catching anything. However, that didn't matter. Bumpa would cast the line out and Molly would sit patiently watching the bobber for 30 seconds or so, before she needed to reel the line back in check the bait. When Molly was certain we weren't going to catch anything off the dock, we moved over to a large rock at the edge of the water. It took a few more cast before Molly was more interested in drawing letters in the sand than catching fish. I will admit that she lasted longer than I expected.

Because this is suburbs, the pond also has a large playground, skate park and soccer field nearby. Additional fun was had playing in the big sand box and climbing around a new play structure. And after school we hit another playground. Since the houses do not have yards, they compensate with playgrounds. Molly doesn't seem to mind.
As for Pajama Day, I am not sure what to make of it. Twice a year, Mac and Jacob's school has a day where the kids are allowed to wear their pajamas all day. This is either taking casual Friday to some scary extreme or an attempt to prevent this generation from having nightmares of showing up to class in the pajamas. In either event, Molly wanted to wear her pajamas to pick up Mac and Jacob at school this afternoon. Since it was Pajama Day, I couldn't argue.
